About Whenabouts
Whenabouts is a free tool for the bit of making plans everyone dreads: finding a date. You make a plan, share one link, your friends tap the days they're free, and Whenabouts shows you the date that works for the most people. No accounts, no app, no 60-message group chat.
Who's behind it
Whenabouts is made and run by Rohan Narula in London. It's an independent project, not a big company. If something's broken or confusing, that's on Rohan, and he'd genuinely like to hear about it.

What it does
Whenabouts is built for UK friend groups: Christmas dos, dinners, hen and stag dos, birthdays, weekends away and the "we must catch up" that never happens.
- Create a plan on the homepage. Name it, set a date range and choose evening, daytime or any time. You can narrow it to weekdays, weekends or specific days.
- Share one link. There's a WhatsApp button, or paste it anywhere. Invite as many friends as you like.
- Everyone taps their dates. Free or "maybe". Nobody signs up or downloads anything.
- Lock in the best date. The date with the most people free is highlighted. Once you confirm it, anyone with the link can add it to Google Calendar or download a calendar file.
- Can't decide what to do? Spin the Plan lets the group add ideas to a wheel, spin it, then lock in a date.
It's free to use, for you and everyone you invite.
What it doesn't do
Being honest about limits saves everyone time:
- It doesn't connect to anyone's calendar. People tap their dates themselves.
- It doesn't email or text your friends. You share the link, and you post the final date in your chat.
- It isn't built for booking work meetings at specific times. For that, a meeting scheduler is the better tool.
How Whenabouts is paid for
Whenabouts is free, and there are no ads on it. It's paid for in three ways:
- Tips. After you've added your dates, or once a plan is confirmed, you might see a small "Buy us a coffee?" box. It's completely optional, there's a "No thanks" button, and saying no changes nothing.
- Affiliate links. Some of our guides (for example on cottage weekends, hen and stag dos, or Christmas with friends) may link to companies that can help with the next step, like booking a cottage or an activity. If you book through one of those links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Those links are always labelled "Ad" right where they appear. More on that in our affiliate disclosure.
- Rohan. Rohan pays the hosting and running costs himself.
What we'll never do: sell your data, add ad networks, or let a commission decide what we recommend. Date-picking always stays free.
Your data, briefly
Whenabouts only asks for what it needs to make a plan work, like the names people type in and the dates they tap. There are no ads, no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers. Any analytics we use are first-party and only run if you accept them in the cookie banner. The full details are in the privacy policy.
