Free group scheduling with no login, for anyone
Most "free" scheduling tools come with a catch. You make an account, verify your email, dodge an upgrade prompt, and your mates get an ad before they can say they're free on Thursday.
Whenabouts is a free group scheduling poll with no login for anyone. Not you, not your friends. Make a plan, share one link, and see which date suits the most people.
What "no login" actually means here
- You don't sign up. No email, no password. You just create the plan.
- Your friends don't sign up. They open the link and tap their dates. Nothing to download.
- No ads, no advertising cookies, no third-party trackers. Analytics are first-party only, behind a consent banner.
- Invite as many friends as you like. Share the link with the whole group.
How it works
- Create a plan. Name it, set a date range, and choose evening, daytime or any time. Use "Which days work?" to show any day, weekdays, weekends or individual days.
- Share one link. Tap the WhatsApp button or paste it anywhere: iMessage, email, Slack. Everyone taps the days they're free, or "maybe".
- Lock in the best date. Whenabouts adds it up and highlights the date that works for the most people. Once you confirm, anyone who opens the link can add it to their calendar: "Add to Google Calendar" or a .ics file for Apple and Outlook.
Who it's for
Whenabouts is built for friend groups and the person who always ends up organising:
- Dinners, birthdays and nights out, including Christmas dinner with friends
- Christmas dos, with friends or at work
- New Year's Eve plans and Twixmas catch-ups
- Hen and stag dos
- Weekends away and group holidays
- Reunions, book clubs and regular catch-ups
If you're stuck on what to do, Spin the Plan lets you add a few ideas, spin a wheel to choose one, then lock in a date.
Is it right for you? An honest checklist
Use Whenabouts if…
- You're picking a day or evening, not a 30-minute slot.
- Your group lives in WhatsApp and won't make an account for anything.
- You want something quick and free, without ads.
Use something else if…
- You need exact meeting times or video-call links. Whenabouts doesn't do time slots.
- You want it to read or sync your calendar. It doesn't. People add the confirmed date themselves from the link.
- You need automatic reminders or deadlines. Whenabouts doesn't send any, so you'll be doing the nudging.
For work meetings, a meeting scheduler like Doodle is built for that job. Its free plan includes one calendar connection, and video links come with Pro. Doodle's help centre says you now need an account to create a group poll, and its free plan shows ads. There's more in our honest Doodle comparison, and if you'd rather have an hourly grid, our When2Meet alternative page says when to stick with When2Meet. Comparing the lot? Here's our round-up of free group date planners in the UK.
Why not just use a WhatsApp poll?
You can, for "Friday or Saturday?". But a WhatsApp poll makes people vote for options, so it doesn't show the overlap across a fortnight of evenings. A date poll asks "which can you do?", which is the question you actually need answered. More in how to find a date that works for everyone.
Frequently asked questions
Is Whenabouts really free?
Yes. It's free to create a plan, share the link, collect availability and lock in a date.
Does anyone need an account?
No. There's no login for the organiser or anyone answering, and nothing to download.
How many people can I invite?
Invite as many friends as you like. Share the same link with the whole group.
Are there ads or trackers?
No ads, no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers. Analytics are first-party only and only run if you consent.
Can I schedule specific meeting times?
No. Whenabouts finds the best day or evening (or daytime) for a group. For timed meetings, use a meeting scheduler.
